Over 200 attended the open house of the MTC Techonolgies Tech Center at the corner of Orchard and Middle streets in Mediapolis. The two-story facility is state of the art and will allow MTC to consolidate operations. “The addition of this building will allow us to consolidate our operations, make us more efficient and keep costs down. This way we won’t have to maintain multiple buildings to house our equipment and staff,” stated Bill Malcom, MTC’s General Manager. Click Here For More

A Morning Sun man received minor injuries after the vehicle he was driving blew a tire. Officials say 25 yearold Jacob Charles Tisor was driving eastbound on Pleasant Grove road in a fully loaded dump truck owned by G & B Trucking of Burlington, blew a tire causing the truck to veer to the immediate left where it entered the ditch and flipped into a cornfield causing the box of the truck to become detached. Tisor, who was trapped inside crawled out to safety where he was treated by Mediapolis Rescue for injuries and transported to Great River Medical Center. Click Here For More

The facilities of the Mediapolis News were used as a donation site this past week. The items, which are to be used for flood victims, were enough to fill nearly four truckloads. Donated itmes included clothing, games, toys, dishes, furniture, and kitchenware.
The first load of donations were taken to the Solid Rock church in Wapello with the
remaining going to the former Fat Boys Pizza in Wapello, which has been set up as a donation site.
Being the only drop site in Mediapolis, the News filled the back office full of donated items from caring people all over the area.
The Mediapolis News would like to thank those people who were so kind to donate along with drivers Brian, Lindsey Ford, Britten Ford, and Mark Swafford. Donations of any kind are no longer being taken at the Mediapolis News office. For information on dropping off donations at the Wapello location, contact Lindsey Ford at 563-260- 5534.
